I bought this book for my grandson 13yrs. old he read the entire book for a week before picking up his 8 week old puppy, within two weeks he bonded with his dog, house trained, and taught her to sit, stay, fetch, ly down, come, walk on a leash, all the time using the book as a guide and reference. His Lab. will be a very well mannered companion to him. On his own took the responsibility to find a vet, buy a kennel from lawn mowing earnings, the right dog food and toys etc. The book was far more valuable then the price. Pictures Without Substance

    Ok but VERY Basic.
This book has some good ideas and good techniques but it is VERY basic and short. Seems more like a picture oriented training manual for kids.
